you can re-use the clips on the other boot. Yes you have to remove the diff to lock it. I didn't mark my CV's but at the time I replaced the boot I didn't have my service manual. I would mark them on yours just to be safe

I have not marked 1 yet and I probably changed them 6 times last season and never had a problem .

On my 97 454 the axle wouldn't come out of the dif . and needed to use a puller and broke the end of the stub off that comes out of the dif. Put it together and never had a problem .. Lucky???

The "stick stoppers" offer better protection than the oxlites .... Bill

I just removed the bad boot I left the other one intact. As far as marking it, I really dont see the point.

Well the mechainic told me that since it was just a tiny pin hole and not a rip to sand the rubber up and silicone it. Then keep a very close eye on it. So I'm gonna do that for now.

He said he could do the side gasket for 70 bucks, so it must be realy easy(thats only 1 hour max for that price). He said he didn't recomend I do it because of the washers but I have the service manual and know where they go. He told me that reving it up realy high in a low gear for long periods does this. The stock vent just can't keep up with this situation. And it just happens that I was in a mud hole a couple days before I went to HL and was hitting the rev limiter in 2nd gear high range for a little while when getting out of a hole. So if you have a manual shifted Arctic Cat/Suzuki 400-500 model keep your motor from hittin the rev limiter too much..
