300 Arctic Cat engine problems
#1
We bought a 2000 300 Arctic Cat 4X4 last year. It's been fine so far only a few electrical gliches. Anyway, the four wheeler has about 2500 miles on it and the engine doesn't want to run when the choke is applied at all. When it's cold it's the worst. Also it smokes and uses oil. We use it everyday being on a farm and such. I have never seen an being new have these kinds of problems in less than a year. Hope someone can help me.

The only time we ran it on the choke was when it was cold like your supposed to do. Now when you put on the choke it dies. Another thing, will a/c cover the entire cost for rebuilding the engine since it's using oil, we bought the two year warranty.

It sounds like your rings are gone. I would take it to your dealer and let them check things out. If the temperature is above 50 I don't even use the choke on mine when I start it up. It starts as soon as the starter hits. If its cold out I only choke it half way and it starts fine. As soon as the engine warm up I open the choke all the way and ride. Good luck and hope this helped.
