Canadian Price for 2001 400 4x4?
#1
My local dealer has one leftover from 2001, a 400 4x4. What should I expect to pay for this machine fellow Canadians?
When I asked what this machine cost he said $7900.... however, I am sure he will deal lower than that.He mentioned that I could also get a Warn 2000 lb winch for $99.00.
What do you think guys. What are they going for in your local area? All replies would be appreciated.
Thanks.

wow! $7900 is STEEP for a 01!! I don't know what the price difference is between provinces, but here in NS the 02 500s are $8000. And quite honestly there are places lower. that is just the price at the place i am getting mine at. I did, however go out to the place when he was selling off the '01's and, I am not joking, he was selling a brand new 01 500 for 7400. And that was a 500. He did have 400s there but I didn't inqure about them since it was a 500 i was looking for. He said that, if i am not mistaken, he paid $7300 for the 01 500 and was only going to make $100 profit! Now maybe there is more demand in Sask. that drives your prices way up, and if that is the case it is useless for me to give nova scotian price comparisons. But if not, I would say, with or without a winch, that is one high price for a 400!

Nova Scotia seems to have the best prices, but the prices in Sask do seem really out of whack. In Sudbury you can get a 01 500 Auto Cat for 7900, and when they know you're serious they'll knock off freight and PDI, which is normally added on after.
That's about 300-400 more than for the 500 manual, which is normally about 500-600 more than the 400.
Sounds to me like you're getting soaked.
Newf, if your dealer is only making $100 selling a quad I wouldn't count on him for service for very long, cause he'll never stay in business. Dealers have got to make a profit, or they won't stay afloat and you'll have no where to buy you're next bike.

I see what you mean. But he was only selling off his leftovers to make room for the 02s that were sitting in the crates. He wanted them gone is why they were so low. Normally they wouldn't have been. This dealer has a very good reputation around here and has a lot of awards from arctic cat. when i was there he seemed to be running a very good operation (trust me i have been to some pretty bad ones while searching for the right dealer) He is currently selling his 02 500s for $8000 it is not the cheapest price, but we are going there because of the rep he has. Any hoo just thought I would add that.
