I have just purchased an Arctic Cat 300 to compliment my King Quad for farm work here in Australia. I noticed the Cat has the same front diff as the King but alas Arctic Cat in their wisdom have not made provision to lock the diff. (The cable only switches between 2 and 4 wheel drive). If anyone has modified their 300 to utilise the diff lock I would be glad to hear from them.
Cheers.

Mr. Din: The modification you mention has been done; I believe reported on the Forum. Don't know if the "Search" function can find the info for you; maybe another reader will respond with the reference, post, or information. Good luck!

Ok bear with me since I am doing this from memory.

In order to be able to lock the front differential you either will have to get a longer cable or put the front diff in 4wd(note the position in 2wd), remove the shift arm at the front differential than position where it was in 2wd. This will allow the cable to have sufficient length to put the differential in the lock position. The modification will allow you to have 4wd and 4wd lock. You won't be able to select 2wd. You will have to decide which you prefer.

If you have further question you can email me.

Hope this helps, I will also try to find the exact post and send it.

That's all that needs to be done to get differential lock on those 300 Arctic Cat's? That's pathetic in AC's part. They couldn't spend 10 more minutes engineering these quads to include differential lock? I think it would be well worth the option.
