ANYONE SEEN OR HEARD FROM "COWBOY"

Hey Minehunter,
Haven't heard from you in a while. How is that Grizz? Do you like it? You said you heard from Cowboy not to long ago. Is he still in that area or did he move. You need to tell him to stop by and say hello on the boards every now and then. I'm no longer a cat owner. I now have a Rubicon and I really like it. I can't say I like any better than my cat, but it really is nice. The tranny is great and the display is awesome. Some people say its just something to break, but if you take care of it, it won't and it sure is nice. I think my cat was a better climber but I really haven't taken the rubi all the places I took my cat, YET! Cat was a little more comfortable. The rubicon doesn't have 2/4wd switch, but it steer so well it really doesn't need it. It steers as good as my cat in 2wd. Anyway, look forward to hearing from you, and if you talk to cowboy tell him hello.

I still lurk in here from time to time Waco. I have just been busy with other things and all. The Cat still gets ridden just not as often as it used to. I let friends use the Cat when we go riding if their machines are broke or whatever. If I'm going out into the flat desert I'll even let the occasional newby use it. If I am going to the hills they don't.
I'll let Mike (cowboy) know you were asking about him. He lives in the Tri-Cities area of Wa. Take care and enjoy that Honda. Most Cat owners won't hold that against you.

Minehunter,
Have you guys had any snow yet? Looks like the weather has really changed here lately. It's pretty cold down here in Texas, so I'm sure it's cold up there. Are you going hunting this year or have you already gone? Any luck? I'm leaving to hunt mule deer in New Mexico on Monday. Be there a week. Do you like your grizzly? I've heard mixed reviews. Guy near me got one and he doesn't like it. He always had a polaris and wishes he would have gotten the 700. But, you know people who own polaris quads usually like them. I haven't ridden one so I have absolutely no opinion except they look cool. Anyway, I just wondered if it was as tough as the old cat. My honda is new so only time will tell, but if it's as tough as my cat was then I'll be an extremely happen guy.

The Grizzly is a nice machine. I love the power and the thrill of the speed. the ride is slightly better than the Cat, but it doesn't feel anywhere near as stable. I just recently changed tires on it and widened the stance. This weekend It will get teh workout and I'll see if the sidehill stability seems to have improved. It would have to go some to be on par with the sure footedness of the Cat.
Hunting season is over for me this year. Got my Muley on teh second day of teh season at 8:05 in the Morning. after it was all said and done and deboned, I got 84 pounds of meat off of it. Not to bad a deer. I had to use the Cat to bring it out. I knew the racks on the Grizzly wouldn't support it.
Keep in touch.

I agree with you Minehunter. The honda isn't as sure footed as my cat either. I still like a lot about it, but I still miss the cat every now and then. What kind of muley did you get? What size are the mule deer up there? Good talking to you, take care. One more thing about he honda, it gets great fuel mileage. I do like that.

I had a doe tag in a controlled hunt area. They only give out 75 Buck tags for that area and 800 doe tags. I hunt for the meat anyways. The rack size is just something to brag about or show. They don't taste to well and are hard to cook so I don't worry about them. There are some monster bucks in that area though. I saw a big 4x5 on opening morning. he probably had a 34 inch spread. 30 inches and better seem to be the norm in that area.
We did get a little skiff of snow the other day but it didn't amount to much. There is snow on the hills around town though.

30" and better seem to be the norm? Are you kidding me? That's huge! A mule deer 34" is unheard of in the Southwest anymore. There has been only 4 mule deer in Colorado in the last 5 years that were 34". Is a buck tag impossible to get? Or do they even allow out of state hunters? When is the season and what section or area of Idaho would you hunt or did you hunt? If I could see a 30" mule deer I'm coming hunting! Give me some more information if you don't mind. Let me know when you have to have information in for the draw. thanks!
