I am caught in a dilema between the CAT and the TRAXTER. I know the traxter is great also and its very good on fuel. I do long trips so besides dependability, I want good fuel consumption. How many miles are you getting on your 2002 AC 500's. They almost have a 5 gallon tank so its almost the same as the traxter.
I think these 2 are really close but what helps a little is the traxters front diff being superior.
I have a 2000 grizz right now, its a great machine but I miss the gears. The new 660 is not out of the picture but i'm leaning towards the utility aspect just as it seems to me really rugged.

2000 Grizz
4200 km's.

We went on a night ride this past fall with several other quads. We did 58 miles of pretty easy riding mostly 3rd. gear a lot of hills but not much low range crawling stuff. Out of all the quads that were riding double, my AC and A Rubicon was the only 2 that didn't have to switch to reserve. We even ended up pulling a 650 Prarie back the last mile because he was empty. The 2 660s we had both went to reserve one had just one rider the other 2. I,m sure everyone was full before we left but riding style has a lot to do with this. When I filled up the next day it took right at 4 gallons to refill the tank, this ride lasted about 7 hours. We didn't have any Traxters with us. Gas mileage depends on riding style and terain, at times I have had to switch to reserve after only 35 miles.

The AC will ride much better than the Traxter, and your old 600 Grizzly. The Traxter is a heavy built quad just like the AC. They just don't have many around here the dealer is a ****, has a lot to do with it. Ride them all and make your decision on what you like, just make sure you get a dealer you can trust and like. This can make all the difference in the world if you need him. Good luck and keep us posted.
