You're close but no cigar, BBertram... The 500i comes equipped with 25x8x12 fronts and 25x10x12 rears. Mine had Dunlop's but I asked the dealer to change them on the floor for Titan's 589's, A/T's, 25x10x12, all four wheels. Cost? Add $180.00. Well worth the trouble. Also, these tires (front) are out past the fenders, approximately half inch (.5&quot. That would make your tires at least 1.5 inches past on either side since you have 25x12x12's... My stock wheels were my choice because they are designed to cover the hub area, where debris could get in and cause damage. I do like the Bear Claw tires too but I saw that Arctic Cat, is advertising the Titan's. Obviously, you get a better deal when the dealer can get them at a price reduction. Nice post, all you guys.

Hello everyone!
For what it's worth. My 500i Auto came with 25x8x12 fronts and 25x11x12 rear Dunflats oops! Dunlops. I switched over to Titan 589 A/T's within a couple of days of bringing it home. I went with 26x12x12 rear and 26x9x12 up front on the stock rims. I measure 2 1/4" past the fenders front and rear.My ground clearance with the new set is 13 1/2" front and rear. Just thought I share the info. Hope it helps.

Sorry Joehunter I guess we got off the original subject. I now have about 6 1/2 hours on my 500i auto. Up till this weekend our tempatures been between 18 and 36 degrees f. to start mine I choke it about halfway hit starter and it fires up after 15 seconds I turn the choke off or it will stall but I do have to feather the throttle for about 2 to 3 minutes (or it will stall). But after that it will idle with no problems. It seems to be getting better as it's breakin in.

I rode mine for the first time out Joe. That was yesterday. It ran fine all the time but I only had time to put 7 miles on it. Not a very good test ride but I enjoyed it... Went through mud and water up to top of tires and had no problems getting though or with idle after. Came home, washed it off good and started it up, no problem. I do think you're having normal wear. Though not sure how to approach this problem.
Good luck,
Chuck

Joe, My Cat would have difficulty holding an idle when I ran at slow speeds. I figured the plug was just loaded up so I put it in low range and allowed it to wind up which cleaned up the plug. This immediately brough the idle back to normal. It was worse in 20 degree weather. Now I have 150 miles on it and recently I ran it on a 55 degree day. The idle was somewhat fast and could be turned down a notch.

These are big bore carburated machines being broken in during the winter so there are bound to be some glitches in performance.

Joe, has anyone told you to check the gas tank vent tube? Just blow through it to see if there's any obstructions. Also, make sure it is not pinched. Check and see how it idle's with the gas cap off,But be carefuul for the obviuos reasons.

I would like to put more miles on my Cat but the weather is so cold that you would die going outside for to long. I'm serious man, its like -45 degrees Celcius and then you add the wind chill its like -55 or -60 degrees celcius. Way to damn cold to go outside. I'm hoping with more miles my problem will clear istself up or it might be the cold weather affecting the idle somehow. If my problem with the idle does not go away by the end of spring I will take it back to the dealership and get it tuned up. I live like 8 hours away from the closest dealership, which really sucks.

Thanks Guys/ Gals: I figure I have only about 2.5 hrs on it with 21 miles. I still don't think that break-in should have anything to do with this idle problem. Once it is warm and adjusted it should maintain its' idle. I know my dealer will be useless as I mentioned it to him after my first ride and he just hummed and hawed!
