Just a quick note to let some other Canucks know about the P/N 2256-469 for the service manual. My local dealer told me that was not a valid number on his micro fiche....however, about a week later the manual arrived. On the back of the manual....low and behold p/n 2256-469!

Be prepared to pay more than the $50.00 the US gang are shelling out. Since I did not buy my quad from this guy he may have hosed me a bit, but I paid $75.00, plus shipping, plus taxes. Here in Saskatchewan, that amount to $100.00.

I could have used this when I tore my front end apart to install and wire the winch, hand and thumb warmers, but it looks like a very good book! Lots of info on all 2002 models.

Chunkyboy,
As far as the service manual goes, the 400 ATC is the same as the 400i model. There is a section on suspension, and it shows all the different schematics for all types, including TBX model. Not having seen the older manuals, I cannot compare. I feel it a good buy, but I have no other manual other than the OEM owners manual.

I got a manual with the 500i. Asked the dealer to order one, cost, $37.00. Has all the 2002 models in it, I think... If you guys need a section run for servicing your own quad, say something! Maybe we can get you a copy of what you need. It's better than getting ripped by the dealer. You can send a private message or just post here.

hEY DUDES , THANKS for your reply , I knew that the act , i , quads were about the same , except the brakes , shocks , and the rear end , Im still upset with ac for the sorry owners manual , dont get me wrong , but i bought a i model and i expected a book that aleast had it listed in it , told me how to ajust the shocks about the rear cv joints or the new brake system I know im getting netpickey but you wait 6 months ,drive 60 miles break all speeding laws to get it , you get home to late to ride much , you get the owners manual out , go to the trone room to at least read about your new 6000 $ quad and guess what it aint even in the book , what about the weight limits , it aint there , I am going to call ac monday to complain about some parts my dealer ordered dec 20 2001 , and cant get he said that they keep back ordering , this are warranty parts and i think we should get a owners manual for a 400i , thanks for your imput guys ill let you know about what they say , if you want to know , VA CHUNKY BOY

Hey Chunkyboy, I agree with you.It shouldn't really matter how much we are paying for these atv's though, We should be getting model specific owners manuals or have every model covered. Not some general info. manual .If the couldn't have it ready for shippmant with the machine they should have included a note saying one would be sent when they were ready!Heck most of the pictures arent even of 02 models.I would like to know what they tell you when you call them. Thanks

About the only thing that they really need to add to the owners manual for the i models it he preload adjustments. Everything else is basically the same. You have no grease zerks that need to be addressed, the updated brakes are simply braided steel brake lines, and the weight limits are the same. So, what exactly do you want them to add?

About the parts, I feel your pain man. Arctic Cat is killing us with all the back orders. The inner wheel bearing seals (p/n 0405-069)have been on back order since before New Years if I remeber right. And they claim that they will be off of back order Monday, but I dought it.

Keep us posted C/Boy... We don't want to have anybody helpless on an AC. The manufacturer needs to know we stick together.
