I'm sure it has been discussed before...Yes I looked for the previous posts...I have an '02 500i Auto with stock dunlops...Want to put 6-ply 589's (AT or MS) on there for insurance against flats...stock tires are 25x8-12F & 25x11-12R...Considering the 26" 589s because I dont want to use spacers or have the tires rubbing at all...I'd like to hear from Crazycat (I saw those pics, very nice) about any rubbing problems with the 26" 589s. Can I mount these tires myself with common tools? Anybody buy tires online? Average cost to mount 4 tires? I'm sure you can tell I'm new at this, and thanks for any/all replies...

Delta, I just investgated the same thing. I have decided on the Titans 586 M/Ts. There is no problem with rubbing ect... I e-mailed a guy who is on this form, and he told me all about it. Check out his site to see the tiers on his 500i. On stock rims with no spacers ect...

Thanks...I saw on another forum you were having the 26" 589s MTs installed at the dealer...Did you get the AC yet? I still cant decide on the 589 MT or AT (MS?), or Titan or ITP..Gotta do something soon, though..Does the Titan MT have some sort of 'rim guard' (or bead)? I dont want to break any components, and dont want any rubbing...My buddy just put 25" ITP 589s on his '02 660 Grizzly...Loves 'em...He wanted the 6-ply tires to avoid flats (lots of sharp rocks & stumps here in MA) so thats my plan as well...By the way, where is Ft. McMurray? By the way, I saw rides4fun's page-he has 589MS on front and 589MT on the back...pretty cool..

Delta, I am really enjoying my 26" Titan 589 A/T's. (they don't even come close to rubbing anything)
Here is a link to a recent post on the subject:
Stock tire question I have a friend with a tire shop so I bought mine here locally. I did shop around though and Ronnie's cycle (which has a few stores near you) had some very good prices.I would leave it up to a cycle shop or tire dealer to do the work. They are hard to mount without the proper equip. but it's even harder to break the bead to get the "old one's" off!

The ITP 589MS will wear real good you can see my old ones with 1800 miles in my pics. The MTs don't wear nearly as good if you will be doing some gravel road and hard pack riding they would be your best choice. It is simple the MS has more rubber on the ground than the MT. The MT may have a slight edge in the slick hard stuff. The MS will steer a little easier. Good luck.
