I just called my dealership for the warranty work and guess what. A recall for the ball joints. He didn't say if it was just for the i models but it sounded like that. Just an FYI. Call you dealers and ask.

Thanks for the info... I will have to check and see what is up with the 400i... So will you have to take the whole ATV to your dealer (I know you have to drive like across country for it) or can you just take off the recalled part and send it to your dealer? I hope you only have to send it to them because two days rounds trip for service would suck!

I'm going down south anyways so it all works out for me. If I wasn't going I'm sure they would let me send them the defective ball joints and I could replace them. I just hope my Cat stays together for the rest of the summer, and to top it all off summer is very short here. At least I got my Z400 to play with.

My dealer said, and accourding to the recalls I just received, all 2002 Cats are being recalled.

I just got a certified letter from Arctic Cat today. This is a big deal to them. This letter states they are recalling 44,920 units. ALL 2002 MODELS except the 90 and the SBS 1000. They even sent a coupon for $25 in AC accessories. Pretty cool! I'd guess the ball joints will be on back order soon so get in quick.

To those owners who have had ball joint problems, how many miles did you have when the problems showed up, and what is the nature of the problem?

I heard that 50 out of the 44,000+ had the problem so far. Sounds like they just snapped off. Of course that will make the front wheel break off. Not cool. So to play it safe, they recalled all of them.
