Does the 500i manual still have the rocker shifter? If so, Could you CAT guys offer your opinions on the Manual vs Auto.

The rocker shifter is still used by Arctic Cat. I didn't want it when I bought my Cat, now I can't imagine not having it. Its so much better than the normal shifter. If you want the normal shifter you can get it too. I think the manual is better than the automatic. It will never fail on you and it gives you more power. The automatic is nice too though because you don't have to shift and its easier to ride. Plus the manual is cheaper.

If you ever plan on wearing big boots or anything the rocker shifter is great! I really love it. Took some getting used to, but it easier to press down your heal to shift then to get your toe under the shifter and shift!

Yes you will definitely like the rocker shifter, it will become second nature to you rather quickly. I can't comment on the Auto Cats since I've only owned Manual ATV's.
