GEAR INDICATOR LIGHT PROBLEMS?

About a month ago my dumba$$ brother couldn't get the 98 454 into reverse(when it was cold) so he pulled on the lever so hard that the lever bent & the indicator light says it's in REVERSE the whole time,so when i go to start it now i have to push the lever forward HARD until the light says NEUTRAL then start it.did any1 else have any problems with putting it into reverse or problems with the indicator lights????????????

P.S. the 98's do not have the start-in-gear feature

He probably just bent the lever where the reverse indicator switch is. Do some checking and rebend where the switch is and you won't have any more problems.

I didn't seem to have any problems with mine when it was cold. I had a little trouble starting it every now and then. It's pretty cold natured. Damn you would think that something called arctic cat would be real good in the cold! If the bike is still under warranty make them fix it.

You have a point my new 2000 is very cold natured, even in Alabama. As for indicator light problems the only one that I have found is that my neutral light will not come on but its in warnty i just need to take it to get fixed
