I work for a Honda/Yamaha dealership and I asked our Interstate battery rep about the benifits of a gel celled battery. He explained they were intended for marine use in jet skis which are prone to being inverted. He recommended using a sealed battery for quad use which would sustain inversion fine. He could get a gel cell but the exra cost was'nt worth it. He did say all your batteries in recreational toys should be ventless sealed batteries. They averaged $50 for quad and motorcycle. I saw sealed batteries at Wal-Mart for the same price.
