Default 500 quits

my 500 i is giving me problems i was pushing snow with it when it started misfiring never done this before then it quit took ten minutes to get it going then next time i had to let it cool down a good half hour so i could start it and put it away.it,s not the gas or spark plug my guess is a coil or something has anything like this happened to anyone else worst thing is the cold minus 40 below weather is passing and my bike isn,t running guess i,ll have to take over my daughters 70 honda atc just not quite the same[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img]

Look through the archives, I saw some guys from Canada with the same problem.

When i had a similar issue it was 2 fold. The wiring harness got bad in a couple spots. Near the coil and near the CDI. Check it over real good near all the connections. Mine was seedy in these 2 spots. Second my vent hose was getting plugged with ice. (this happend on a 375 also) I had to mod the hose, IE: cut it shorter (it was 16inches long hehe) All this during -25 ~ -40 C cold snaps. Mine is a 98, and after 4~5 years of mudding and driving in snow it needed attention.
