the part number that is needed is 0402-965 it cost 117.00 it is for a manual 500i. it has 36 teeth and the auto has 34 teeth. the manual is geared lower than the auto how about that. the microfish does not show the manual yet but it does show the 500 tbx which uses the same rear diff. i called my dearler and the part number above is what he said was for the manual.

oh yea the front and rear cvs call for the same part number and all the bearing and shims and seals use the same part number front to rear. the only thing that does not have the same number is the housing covers are both different. after looking at both picts i think it will work.

The most important part on the whole deal is the hoiusing itself.. The rear sub cannot be any wider or any thinner than the one up front or you will have to reshim! to make up the difference.

seems like a locked front diff would make it hard to steer ??

this must mean the the limited slip doesn't lock up tight enough ??
