Hi, I'm just looking to get some feedback on what gps you use .. I have the Legend but feel it has to many options that I don't need. What I want a gps to do is get me in and out of the woods while riding or hunting. I don't need to download 8mg of city maps because I don't ride or hunt in the city. Not yet !!! I hear the Garmin 12 is a good simple unit that works well. Let me hear what you got to say! Thanks , FlatTire

Well, I have the Legend and I love it. Couldn't be happier. I like the ability to download maps as the R&R or the Topo are very nice and useful for hunting and 2 tracking....they show many firetrails etc. If you don't want or need that you might try just the basic "yellow" etrex. The only reason I suggest that is it is very similar to you Legend without all the frills. Nothing at all wrong with the 12 that you mentioned either.

The E-Trex is a very good series of GPS units. I use the Vista and love it. There are different E-Trex GPS's that have less features than the Legend. You might look at them, since you have used the Legend, the lowerre end unit would be lvery easy to operate. If you change and want to sell the Legend PM me, I am interested in buying another GPS

I have the ifinder plus by lowrance it has a bigger screen which is good if you mount it on the quad. it comes with a map creator which is nice to load your areas you are going to need for every road in great detail. its easy to use, also only thing it is not water proof it comes with a clear bag which ain't too bad if you go muddin. they go for about $230 free shipping at http://www.mall24-7.com/lowrance.htm
