Default Problem with a Big Red

A friend of mine has got a 1985 big red 250 and their's an electrical problem with it. When you turn the ignition on, nothing goes on, no lights, no neutral light, nothing. The thing is that it worked perfectly until he went in a poker derby with it. We're guessing some moisture got into the ignition or somthing. We tool the voltmeter and found that their is lots of power at the fuses, (we replaced them) the battery, and everywhere else on the electrical. But when we took the meter on the ignition, their was a big power loss. Could it be that something is corroded. If I were to spray non-conductive spray all over the ignition, you think would it fix the problem? Keeping in mind that it was running perfectly until after he parked it at the end of the poker derby, could it be something elso, or is it the swithch. All the other electrical parts look fine.

Thanks in advance

Default Problem with a Big Red

I might be able to help. I have an '86 and while I was driving it one night the light shut off and when I shifted to neutral, nothing, as you said. Mine worked by wiggling the ignition but maybe you aren't so fortunate. also, i used to reach under the plastic and push up on the rubber containing the wires which would help too. Try it out I guess, hopefully its nothing too serious.
