200es running problems
#1
i was out trail riding, slow, with my 200es, and i shut it down to take a break. it wouldnt start when i tried to start it back up. i tried everything, seemed not to have spark(?). it was on a good incline, but smelled like it was getting gas. well, it finally started, and it was trying to die out unless i held it wide open. it was breaking up, and not running good. almost felt like it had water in the gas or something. spark plug was kinda dark, but it was running rich anyway. i also, after i rode it all the way down revving it, checked out the wires, and the power wire to the coil looked corroded. didnt know if anyone knew any particular problems theve seen like this. maybe ill try some drygas..but i do keep it in a shed ,and never take it out in the rain. the gas i used was not old, and i even checked to see if the fuel valve was plugged, it flowed fine. maybe someone could think of something i didnt check. thanks..

You have already drained the float bowl and it still does this?
The reason I ask, is because if it was running fine until you parked it still on an incline, any moisture in the gas would have found that new airpocket in the float bowl..........just waiting to give you problems beginning at the next startup.

hey i had kinda the same problem. i found it was the wire on that coil in the top corner of your frame, i beleive it may be green. if not it could be your coil inside your cdi. which is easily replaceable.

yeah man, as a matter of fact the wire that your talkin about is kinda corroded, but i didnt know why the thing would continue to run at wide open throttle if it was an electrical problem...well, ill try to clean it up for this weekend, and go exploring...see what happens
