That's funny. I didn't even look at your post before I responded to Sandmanblue, You're 100% correct. Also, I corrected him. The ATC250R puts out 38.4 Hp stock (I still have my title).

i ride an ex now. had a 350x and a 250r before. raced 1000ft ice track. my r was pretty much stock, had studded tires and some duct tape here or there. but, never once, did a banshee that i raced beat me down a path made of frozen water. not even close. and yes there were banshees. if i wasn't against a banshee it was a quad with a mod crotch rocket engine installed. the r was a rocket but couldn't compete against a crotch rocket, but i could ride after the race also. the r was very reliable. i miss it a lot. it will take a lot of wheeler to make the original R-LEGEND go away. sorry banshee guys, all i say is true.

I say the banshee will beat the ATC250R mod for mod. I own an '86 ATC250R that is bored 0.080 over,FMF pipe silencer, torquer reeds, ported, polished head,K&N filter, stock carb,12 tooth front sprocket,42 rear,Pro-X piston kit,+4 swingarm. And my brothers '88 Banshee that is 0.020 overbore with boyeseen reeds, boost bottle and FMF pipes and silencers kills me everytime and the rest of his bike is completely stock. We even switch bikes and his Banshee still wins, What is wrong with my bike? It is very fast but still won't touch his slightly modified Banshee. Any suggestions?

I now ride an MX Blaster, but I have been a major trike fan in the past. I owned an '85 ATC with a DG prepped engine--pipe and silencer, porting, reeds, carb, and a rechambered head. I ride with Banshees quite often, and my old ATC NEVER once was beaten by any Banshee, not even fairly heavily modified ones. I sold it to one of the locals and still see it smokin' Banshees on occasion. How many of you know of the Kawasaki Tecate-3. That is point-blank the fastest bike I have ever seen. I was smoked by Tecates on more than one occasion. I have yet to ride a DS, but I would guess it to also fall to the old trikes in a drag race.

JohnR, when were you at the Silver lake dunes? We go there every 2nd wknd of August. Will be there again this year. I still say after having both machines in the family that the R can't touch the Banshee and I happen to own the R. I am going to throw on a FMF Ram valve for this year and maybe change from the stock carb to something a little better.
