I am new to this board and I just was given a 1983 Honda three wheeler. Before now, I have been strictly an extreme 4wd guy, and haven't ridden atv's much at all. I figure if I'm going to own one, I'm going to learn how to work on it. How do I figure out what the model is, what models were available, and where to get a repair manuel for it. I can't find the model or displacement anywhere on the rig. I was told it's a 185cc, but I don't know if that is correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you got a ATC185. It's a excellent little trike and quite a tough one too. The engine size should be seen on the bottom of the cylinder. There are three types of repair manuals out there: Clymer, Haynes, and the Honda. Since you are new to ATV repair, I would get either the Clymer or Haynes. There sould be an identification tag on the steering stem behind the headlight that will tell you the year and model. You can get a repair manual at several online bookstores like AMAZON.COM or try EBAY.COM

Thanks for the info. I would like to get a new carb for this rig. Any idea where to get one of these new? I'd prefer not to go used.

Ace, Before you get a new carb, try cleaning the old one.Get some gunk carb cleaner and take the old one apart and Soak it in the cleaner over night then put it back together the next day. Good luck!
