Default Need Help With Atc 200m

I Need To Know What The Valve Clearance Needs To Be Set At.
Would It Hurt The Motor Running It With Out A Silencer On It, But With Just A Straight Pipe From The Header Out To The Back?

According to my clymer..should be set at .002..exhuast and intake...make sure to adjust with the piston at TDC on compression stroke...while the engine is cold

Yes, it will hurt the motor to run with out the muffler. IF you remove the muffler, u loose all back pressure. You will find bottem end is like a 2 stroke....jk lol, but it will be very weak...and ull burn your exhuast valve up soon enough.....when u remove the muffler, the whole motor will lean out, and everything burns so much hotter that things melt, and u have some major problems on your hand. IMO...just leave it as is, or buy an aftermarket exhaust...ie, supertrapp

Ok, thanks alot. i ran the exhaust like that cause the sliencer on it was shot. and it kind of broke off, and i didn't have the money to buy one.
I was told that it depends on how long your exhaust is. that it wouldn't hurt it to run with out one.
My friend has a resonator off a car on his 3-wheeler for a sliencer, would that work. or would it hurt it also?

Hmm..im not to sure....my buddy had a ricer exhuast on his 400 something..is wasnt an ex..something else, and it was cool at the time being, a exhuast froma civic, it was huge the muffler lol...4-5 inch diamter, 15in long, loooked wicked on the quad, but its performance dropped drmatically, due to not being enough back pressure....

I guess if it is long enough, but if its only your header, definately gonna melt somefin.... IF you do go with striaght exhuast, get a long pipe, and set ur main jet incredabily high lol...

When my buddy had the civic exhuast on, when ever it was pinned, flames would be shooting out the back..kinda sweet if you ask me lol

the valves should be set at .002. thats with a stock piston, right?

Im running high compression piston, with the high dome, and mine are set at .002....there are slots in the piston so that the valves will clear the piston..i dunno to what depth, but its a good amount

Im thinkin maybe your adjusted something with your carb...is it sealed up tight...between the filter and the engine it self...

You said you messed around with it...what exactly did you do..im wondering now, as to why it wont start?..

I know on mine, i did a carb rebuild, i was messing around with it, and i moved the jet needle clip up a notch, and it would rev quite high and not come down... it should be on the 3rd notch.
