ATC 200S FRUSTRATED!
Thanks again knowsalot. I did a little digging and found that a new XR200R carb will run $116..that's not too bad at all. If the rebuild kit doesn't work, maybe I'll go that route.
Just out of curiousity, what's the size difference between the 200X and the XR200R carb?
I know you've mentioned it before, but what year XR manifold will work better with the new carb?
Thanks again for all your advice. It's good to know there are still some "new" parts available for our machines.

Glenn,
The carb that came on all of the ATC 185 & 200 models...including the 200X was 24mm.
The carb used on the XR200R is a 26mm.
The intake that would bolt right up and keep your carb loaction the same is the intake from any 1980-1984 [NON-R] XR200.
The intake that comes on the late model XR200R is the closest thing that you can still buy that matches identical with the XR carburetor, but like I have mentioned, it requires a new airboot to be made between the carb and airbox and on the X frame, the carb is pretty tight with the frame when using the late model XR intake. That is why it is best to go ahead and use the intake already on your trike unless you want to make some parts.
I had began building a new intake that fixes these problems back this past Spring, but I got pulled off of it to take care of more important things. I hope to get back on that project soon. Besides.....I still owe one to Thrashand crash...........LOL

ATTENTION!!!!!
For anyone wishing to mount a '86-'93 XR200R carb on a '83-'85 200X.
Do not get an intake manifold from a 1980-1984 [NON-R] XR200, it will not work.
You're better off taking the die grinder to you stock intake to solve the 3/16" misalignment of the holes where the intake and the carb meet and silicone the top where air and dirt might seep in.
Or a smart man would just get the intake that comes with the XR200R carb, it brings the carb very close to the stock 200x location.
Honda Part #'s for intakes(intakes have the middle 3 digits embossed on them ie; 965,KTO,446)
'83-'85 200X 16210-965-000
'86-'93 XR200R 16210-KTO-000
'80-'84 XR200 non-r 16210-446-000......shorter and sends carb up and to the right where the carb would be at about a 45 degree angle from horizontal!!!!!
If anyone wants to try the '80-'84 XR200 non-r intake and not believe me, for $25 I'll send you a brand spankin' new one that I wasted my money on because I miss read an article for TOP 200X MODS on www.3wheeler.org which was for 200X mods and the mention of the intake was for putting the 200X engine in the POS 4 wheeler frame.
This isn't meant to dis KNOWSALOT, I just wanted to note the problem I had.
