how fast is an 85 yamaha tri z 250
I've bought and sold a few Tri-Z's in my time and I can't imagine paying over $1400 - $1500 for one, even in pristine condition. As much as I like Tri-Z's, these guys are right, the 250R is a better bike, and you can actually get parts for them. That's an important consideration when you are buying a 20 year old machine. Many dealers won't touch them anymore, so you are on your own. I do have to admit that, in my opinion, the Tri-Z is the best looking trike ever made, and you'll have no trouble hanging with most other ATV's out there.

Id take a Tri Z over any T3 or 250R anyday. Ive owned every model Tri Z, and an 85 250r, and wont even glance at a Honda after riding the Zs. I love em, but its just your personal preference.
Parts are a little harder to find, but with ebay it is a little easier. Parts are out there, you just have to look.

Sd to speed: Stock, around 70 miles per hour. New front sprocket....80 mph.....my 85 Z....Powervalve top end and oversize carb(36mm flat slide) tuned exhaust, shaved head 200 psi compression. 22 inch tires yz250 cdi.. 90 plus mph of krazy power .........after 4500 rpms. It stalls easy at bottom end tho.
