What is the name for the cable that goes into the recoil (pull) starter ?The other end connects to the other side of the engine into the arm with the spring on the engine. I need a new one but have no idea what it is called and it's not listed in the manual I have. Any help???

You don't need that thing, unless you find it too hard to pull without it. I never had it hooked up on my 185, and I could still pull start it easily, and I'm not particularly big (5' 8" 150lbs.) I found it was a pain to have to take out every time I broke the recoil rope. Just pull it out, plug the hole in the recoil (I used RTV sealant) and off you go.
