my buddy has a 85 250 es big red trike and the back drum brakes will not release anymore
when you push the lever at the drum by hand it releases but not smoothly
he has already ripped them apart and with the brakes disassembled it is still hard to get them to release and he is not sure how to get that shafy off to clean it
all the springs look good and the brake shoes are new
we are at a lose
any help would be great

 

hello on the back side take cables off take nut and bolt off the arm u will have to pry on it when it comes off the shaft push it threw clean greese put it back in and make sure the dots on the saft lone up and that the spring goes back in the hole poece of cake

 

I would hit it out from outside in right?

 

no u take the arm off on the inside and it will slide rt out push it to the outside watch u dont loose the little felt washer so u push it from inside to outside

 

how does that arm come of inside the drum

NM i got it out i just hammered it out and it came right out. cleaned it lubed it back up put it back on move very nice now. thanks for the advice
