ATC 185 s carb trouble
I bought a 185s not long ago that has carb problems - leaking. I bought a rebuild kit and installed everything, but it still overflows. Gasoline comes out the overflow tube and looks like it is bubbling out of the main jet. The float seams to be working- I lift the float and the valve is blocked. I can't find anything anywhere about leaky carbs that dont involve float problems. Please Help!

You need to check your float. It could be messed up. It might have a hole in it and gettin to heavy not makin the valve work right. If it does not have any gas inside the float then I would check the little thing that pushes the needle into the hole. This could be bent down not shuttin it all the way too. You may be able to close the valve off but it still could be messed up. I would check both those things.

Thanks for the help. It was much more of a stupid problem than that... I'm not 100% keen with mechanics and didn't realize that the float actually limits the gas into the bowl from the gas tank. I thought it was from the bowl to somewhere else. So I had the gas tank hooked up to the float breather tube. I know... Im an idiot. Lesson learned.

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!!
Sorry forgot to do that last time...
Ah no your not you would have been if you would have paid someone to fix it. Its an honest rookie mistake. But now you will know from now on that you need to put the hose on the right place for things to work lol. Also pay attention to how things come apart in the future so you can put them back right.

When I got the bike, the gas tank was off and on a different bike. When I hooked it up, I saw the vent hose coming out in, what I would consider, the most logical direct route. I do appreciate the experience and really appreciate not paying a honda dealer 70+ dollars an hour to examine it.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
