When your driving 5 miles an hour, why are you in 3rd gear?

Anyway, when you say it feels like its slipping, does it feel like the chain is jumping teeth type thing, or a smoother slip like a clutch is slipping, because you will notice a clutch slipping more in the higher gears.

I don't understand how your tires can be out of alignment, its a solid hub, on a solid axle to a solid frame. Unless you have beaten the trike or the previous owner has, the axle is possibly bent giving the feeling its out of alignment, but otherwise, theres no alignment. Theres a chain tightening nut and bolt behind the axle housing, thats about it.

Best of luck

on my trike to tighten up the chain you loosen the back 4 lock nuts that are by the bearing cage and you pull the tires and the axle back and we didnt pull them evenly but it is the third gear we put it up on a stand its not the chain i burnt it up riding all day not noing i had a oil leak at these sand tracks and it fried so i just skip gears for now and now no matter how fast im goin it slipps i was only going that fast just to see what it was slipping
