Welcome to the forum unhinged65*42!
I have never tried it. I use Amsoil 10w40 in my KTM. Been using Torco GP7 for almost 30 years in my 2 strokes and have never fouled a plug or siezed a engine.
Well except for my son and his WR250, he blew a base gasget at Pismo and burnt a hole in a piston. I dont think any oil could have saved that engine.

My ATC 250R calls for a 20:1 ratio. I wonder how you would mix the Amsoil 100:1? Thanks for the welcome, this forum is full of usefull information and knowledgeable members.....and believe me I have lots of questions!

I contacted AIMSOIL and they recommend the same thing, 50:1. I asked what 2-cycle oil they manufacture would best suit an 85 250R. The representative suggested Saber Professional 100:1. He said that the oil's synthetic properties give the oil lubricating abilities that would allow an 80:1 ratio if desired. The oil is also said to be virtually smoke free, and that a 50 degree engine temperature reduction should be expected. Well I put my money where their mouth is and orderd some.
