Default help 200 es problems

ok guys and gals here is the scoop, first great web site. Now on to the hard stuff i just bought a 200es 1984 and the old boy said it has no spark. first off checked out all the old reliables, plug wire good, plug seem good, juice coming from stator and pulse generator. Now here is the crazy part 2 days ago no spark on the plug but!!!!! when you use the multimeter to check the plug wire and igition coil they are pumping out 12+ volts check the end of the plug nothing. played with it today actually had it fire twice but had gas tank off so it didnt last long enough to test any thing. now nothing this is whippin my but. I just want it to run as good as my 83 big red or even half as good OK just get it to run then ill worry about the rest....... thanks in advance

From what you say sounds like you need a new plug wire. Or maybe crimp the end a bit through the insulation with pliers and get a new plug, if it reads 12 everytime.

the plug may not be touching the inside of the plug wire and that could cause a bad spark
