200x forks to 250sx???
hey i have this sweet 250sx, and sitting out in my brother in laws junk pile is a front end for a 200x, so the narrower tire and a little taller shocks. So does anyone know if i can easily (emphasis on easy i don't feel like a big project) switch the two? thanks oh and it is a 86 sx and i don't know the year of the 200x

The steering stem on the 200x's and the 250sx's are the same. No matter what year. They are interchangeable. However some very light mods are needed to switch the 200x to the 250sx. The steering stop for the 250sx is on the frame on the lower side of the steering stem. And the 200x's are on the front side of the steering stem. So if you would like to bolt the 200x triple tree and shocks to the sx.. Just knock off the steering stop on the 250sx frame. Other wise you will have almost no room to turn. I will mention this thou.. Be carefule of how hard you turn the wheel after this is done as there is now no steering stops.. It will hit the frame to stop so turning on a dime is a whole new meaning. You can easily weld some new stops to the 250sx frame thou. I have done this mod to my 250sx.. works great and gives it a much better stance and handles much better.. They should have made this way from the factory.. Good luck with your mod..
