Howdy,
Please keep in mind I am not new to the 200X and have done all maintenence myself
I have had my 84 200x for over 15 years, it has had only, irregular oil changes, one set of clutches, one set of rings and that is it.
After pulling the case cover/ kick starter(oil change and filter cleaning), I was putting it back together and saw that the k/s gear housing gasket after all these years was torn, so I peeled it the rest of the way and used form a gasket and tightened it down. Now the k/s is real tough to move and gets stuck.........when the cover bolts are loose, so is the k/s shaft......tighten it up , gets stuck.
My question is this, does the original gasket give the k/s shaft that little extra bit of room to prevent binding?
Obviously the form a gasket is not the best stuff to be using, but I don't wanna go hunting for gaskets, I will if need be since I want to, RIP AROUND ON THE WHEELER!
Thanks in advance

Cool, Thanks for the heads up, I will be buying a gasket kit on the fly.
I am also considering using G&H Discount ATV for a top end rebuild kit, send em your head they recondition and match with piston, pin, rings and gaskets for $159.00! I think I am going to go for it, What do you think, anyone use this service before......
Thanks
