Recently bought a 1982 185s for pretty cheap, not running. Finally got it running last night (Only problem was broken recoil spring) and I can ride it for about a minute and then it bogs out. The bike was sitting for 9 years and the spark plug doesn't have much juice, but enough to start up. Anybody have any ideas other than new spark plug?

Timing maybe?

 

did you clean carb? fuel tank could be rusty add an inline filter check fuel flow out of petcock also try running with airbox lid off if that helps may be obstruction in air inlet at backbone area sitting 9 years critters nest up in there

 

The fuel line was really tight against the nipple on my tank, so I replaced it with a new one. The bike started up, then died out again. I had already cleaned out the tank, but when I opened the carb there was a little bit of sludge (not much). I took everything apart again, cleaned the carb 100%, and rode it around for hours last night.
