Looking for kids 9-15 for racing on the gulf coast
I have a 12 year old who rides a 300ex, he has been riding on a practice track for about a month, & has raced 2 times, the problem is he had to run with the open quad class. He of course was outclassed. I have spoke with several track owners, they said they would open a class for the kids on bigger quads if there was an intrest. They gave me numbers of 4-6 kids to open a class. I know that my son is not the only kid out there that is much too big for the minis, & has the talent to ride a bigger quad, he has been riding quads since he was 6, but has just found the intrest in racing, & he is hooked. Anyone who lives on the gulfcoast or somewhere in the area, & has a kid that is intrested or anyone who has suggestions, please let me know. thanks, Rick

Hi,
I live in gulfport. Just wondering where u take your son riding or practicing. I don't know too many places around here to ride. Just like to know where u ride at. I also would like to know when and where the races for the kids are. I have a little girl that might be interested in racing, but not sure. She's only been riding for 3 months and loves it. But right now she only does it for fun.

Thanks for the reply, we go to a practice track located in the Kiln, very easy to get to. It is a membership track, very well maintained, visitors are welcome with a member, it will cost $10 (donation). That is where I took my son to see how he would handle a track, the track is challenging, but there is not anything out there that she would have to do, she can ride over or go around anything. If she felt comfortable on that track, she could ride any local track. My son has been doing this type of riding for about 6 weeks, he raced at Rock Hill, but had to run with the "Big Boys", that track, in my opinion is not as challenging as the practice track. He is definetly hooked; I have spoke with several race promoters, & they would love to open a class for them, we just need at least 4 kids. What type of 4 wheeler does your daughter ride? If you are intrested, we will be going to the track this weekend, more than likely, it will be Sun. If you want to meet us, & let her just ride to see how she does, just let me know. There is a race this upcoming weekend in Hancock County arena, I would love to bring enough kids for them to run a class for them. My son will be racing either way, but I would prefer him to ride with kids his own age. Drop me a line at palmerx03@aol.com or just post here. Thanks, hope to see ya out there this weekend.

Hi, I dont have a child but we do have a track over here in Mobile and I have seen several younger kids out on the track practicing on Sunday. The track is in Irvington, AL just east of Mobile by a couple of miles, it is called Dirt Tracken I believe as they also race cars there on Saturday night. I dont know what the race schedule is, or what classes they have to offer kids ( I am usually working on Saturday when the MX races are going on), if your at all interested in any info just let me know and I will find out the phone# and some other contact info next time Im out there. Checkout my pics I have a shot of one of the doubles they have out there, its a fairly new track so they are still doing a lot of improvments to it.
