Default Hare Scrambles

The KATVA here in kansas is having a hare scramble in march. I have never raced before and i want some more info on the actual race. There site doesn't tell you much and i have had no luck searching. I basically just want to know the idea behind a hare scramble and what to expect. How do the races usually take place etc. thanks
I'll hopefully be riding my new 450R assuming it comes in.

Their basicly a cross country race, usually you make as many laps as you can in a given time period, usually 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Be prepared for anything to mud, hillclimbs, jumps, trees, rocks, ruts, spectators. Have fun!! Check www.atvaonline.com/race/index.asp

Just be prepared for anything!!! Dress comfortable, get some roll off goggles, and camelback, or have a water bottle on the side lines in the pits, you will need a drink during a 2 hour race!! But what is nice to XC, is you can take a bone stock machine out and race it. You may not win or do super well, but you can have a lot of fun, and you will learn quickly what other things will help you improve the handling of your machine...and always improve the ride and comfort first...the key to a 2 hour race is to be around at the end!! Make sure the machine has all of it's bolts lock-tighted down and nothing is loose or worn out! But for starters, get a water pack and some roll off goggles and try it, you will enjoy it!
