450r reliabilty
I have seen threads on several forums about tim far blowing as many as 10 engines already . This sounds like BS to me. Even if they were race prepped I doubt he could wipe out that many by himself unless there is a flaw in the engine. Anyone got some hard info? What were the failures?DNF?

I haven't a clue.
Although completely different, the bike engines have been bullet proof other than needing ring changes quicker than anything ever built it seems.
Maybe that's the deal here.
Swapping engines instead so that Honda can do the teardown of the engines for R&D purposes?? I don't know......just a guess.

I would have to say that this sounds like a bad rumor .. the honda bikes are practically bullet proof !
My brother has a Crf450 and its nearly 6 years old and fairly abused and hasn't had anything exept a lube problem with the tranny engine wise it has only seen a wrench a few times but not even enough to get aquainted ..
