In a small class like that.....you should do pretty well. If you get better shocks(elkas or works or something) and keep lightening it.....I would suggest cutting away that front bumper and making a smaller strait across bumper.....also get some aluminum rims(and possibly beadlocks). Take out your lights too, or else they will get broken by roost(and cost you about 40 bucks). Get a tether cord too!!!! You should be riding with some pretty easy stuff, so you should do well(unless you happen to get some 250r's in there, but they can be beaten too). Practice up and make your quad work for you.
How do you like those high handlebars?? I think for racing, you might want to lower them down a bit, but that is just my opinion too.

i dont mind them i am use to them now i can lower them a lil by pulling them back. i hear u on th e250r's but if im racing the c novice class i shouldnt have to much trouble cuz everyone is a beginner and theres only like 12 people that race that class. the air cooled class might be hard wit the real good riders that ride on 300ex's and what not. also i saw that about 40 people race in it so idk about that one

The machine you have isn't exactly a born racer BUT::: no reason you can't go out and have a good time trying!
Have fun and learn. If you enjoy it, then you may feel the need to step up to a more of a race type machine.
Untill then, have a ball

What are you looking to race?
MX I think you might be out-classed, but XC you might be ok. I've raced in the woods with utility quads and sport quads.
