i have a 1988 250x that has everything done to it and right now its running about 66-70 mph i was wondering what else could i do to i like gearing wise i have a 14 tooht front sprocket and 38 rear should i go up to a 42 tooth rear sprocket or what or do any of you guys know anything about the transmission gearing im looking to go about 75 total or something like that

ummmmm going from a 38 to a 42 slows it down.

 

yeah for speed you want to go down on the rear. for acceleration you want to go up.

 

get like a 15 or 16 tooth front cas they cost less and u only need to change it one tooth to notice a big difference.

 

i cant the biggest i can go on the front sprocket is a 14 tooth so i will go down on the back to like a 36 tooth thats the lowest i can go there also so thats down 2 on the back will that make a big difference or not

 

It probably wont make as big as a difference as it would on the front but it will still help

 

Thats pretty fast for a 250x!
