What do you have to do to get registered for races? Are there tryouts? Does it cost $$$$???

First you get a machine (sorry your ds250 isn't the one to have for racing). Then you get nerfs, a tether switch, boots, helmet etc.
Now you find a local trasck to go race at. The first time there you will watch and see how things are done.
2nd time you sign up and try it. You should go out in last place and follow a faster rider. This is how you learn.

Yes, it costs alot!
Hope that helps.

Well if it costs a lot of money, then it would be pointless to even try. But if it was free, then who cares if you lose, its free.

Whats wrong with a little ds250 for racing, there's races for those little kymco mongoose 250's they are almost the exact same machine.

well i am going to have to agree with lt80 but for a first time racer a 250 is good but if you want to move on you are going to have to upgrade. as far *** costs im not sure for canada but where i live u need an ama card (about $40 usd) then the district or arear you race in will run a another $25 and then each race usaly cost you about $25 per class. but the ama card and the district card last all year. and as far as equptment you need a teather kill switch all the riding gear (boots pants helmet goggles shirt ect...)
