What is a Harescramble?
#2
A HareScramble is a timed race over natural terrian. Rider's are grouped together in classes by skill, rather than engine size/machine. The event begins with a dead engine start, and last anywhere from 1 - 2.5 hours in length. Laps range between 5-15 miles long, and cover various types of terrain.
GNCC is the top level in this type of racing.

I highly recommend getting into a local harescramble!! I enterted my first one in December and loved it. 4 lap race, 7 miles per lap, I was tired but had a great time. Recommend a Camel Bak and X-tra gas, depending on distance. Just ride within your limits and try to save most of your energy for the last couple of laps when everyone else in front is tiring. Have fun.

The one I race at is only held twice a year spring and fall which is good for me since that`s about all I can make a year.
This one run`s about 5 to 6 miles of wooded trails and a complete MX track. The quads run 1 hour plus 1 lap and bikes run 2 hrs plus 1. Dead engine starts and in the novice class (mine) they give trophies back to 5th place.

I think you will be ok with stock tank. As I mentioned I ran 4 laps of 7 miles each. I ride a 250x, probaly same tank size as yours although you have engine mods. After 2 laps, 14 miles,I used half a tank of fuel, I topped it off just to be on the safe side. If your race is only 1 hour and, depending how good your are, you will only 3 laps total at the max. In my first race I was running about a 25 min 7 mile lap. Sorry so long, just trying to save you money and time.
