Just for fun I tried to develop a points system for our picks to see whose crystal ball was the most accurate. What I came up with is a maximum of 10 points per rider if you picked their exact finish. You then lose 1 point for each place the rider finishes away from your pick. For example if you picked Tim Farr for 1st you would get 10 points for him since he is currently in 1st place. If he was in 2nd you would get 9 points, if he was in third you would get 8 points etc... I decided to only include one sleeper since many of you did not pick more than one. I took the sleeper you had listed first and for those who picked Harold Goodman I took your other sleeper since he is not racing. Since everyone had almost the exact same riders for the top five the sleeper is about the only thing to set us apart. Since it is much more difficult to pick the sleepers I decided to give a 5 point bonus if your sleeper manages to finish in the top 5. Using this point system and the pro standings after Round 2 we have:
1) freddie889 - 48
2) Blodg500RX - 48
3) Lurch - 43
4) mdegain - 42
5) dave400ex - 42
6) trx300EXR - 41
7) joey1 - 41
8) saMsOn - 39
9) dubber97 - 37
10) chawness - 32
11) atv88 - 30

Tie-breaker went to whoever placed better with their 1st place pick. If they both picked the same 1st place pick then it goes to their 2nd place pick and so on...

atv88, you only listed 5 riders so I didn't have any sleeper for you. If you want pick a sleeper before the next round and your points will higher.

I don't know if this is the best points system or not, but it's just for fun anyway. Maybe half way through the season we can all make 1 or 2 trades to get rid of those riders not performing.

Keep in mind only 2 motocross races have been ran. So those who picked TT specialist Hitt high on your list may make a big jump after the next round.

Very good posting. You have to much spare time. More than I do an I am retired.

 

Thanks tprender, but I don't have much spare time. I play in fantasy leagues for supercross and outdoor motocross and it makes following the races much more fun. I created a spreadsheet to track everyones picks which didn't take much time. I then copied the spreadsheet into the reply box so I didn't have to type it twice. I will try to update it after each event but the weather in Ohio is now nice enough to start riding so I may not stick with it.

 

I think this is a cool way to see who has good picks. Thanks for doing this, it does make it that much more fun. I would, though, like to add the #53 rider to the sleepers, dont know his name, but he impressed me alot in KY in the first heat, was in 3rd for at least1/2 if not 3/4 of the heat. He is fast.

Hey I just want to thank you for doing this for us. Great to see something like this being done for atv racing as well.

 

I think I'm going to add Ben Jackson to my list. He can be my sixth rider. This is a pretty cool post. Maybe next year we can start a fantasy league or something. By the way how is the quad coming?

 

atv88, the quad is finally running! I still have some odds and ends to square away, but I went riding for the first time last Thursday.

 

 

Good to see the quad is back together. I'm going to buy a few things for my 400ex when my tax return comes back.I hope to race it and my blaster locally this year. Just to get some extra seat time. You wouldn't happen to know anyone with a set of used 250r or 400ex beadlocks for sale?
