Since I totaly trashed my engine the other day I was thinking about borrowing some money from my brother and totaly redoing it, maybe a 310 kit new carb, new clutch components, amoung the other parts needed to repair the engine(case, gears, etc). I want to know how reliable a fully moded race engine is when it is built properly(CT, Curtis Sparks, or LRD). I read the highlights of all the nationals and the pros seem to blow more motors than I will ever own. Comments from experienced racers please. Thanks

Just watch how big of a bore you deciede to go with. You will not be able to run any of the 250cc classes at nationals if you have a displacement over 265cc. You would have to run an open class. As far as local racing you can run any displacement you want. As far as reliability, you might want to talk that over with the companies that sell the kits. They will usually give you a straight answer.
