NOTICE....Eric said ADVIL, NOT!!, Asprin. ASprin is a blood thinner and NEVER take a blood thinner before you race. Obviously, if you have any kind on injury (Head, chest) and rupture blood vessels you can bleed to death before they figure out what is wrong with you. Just thought I would pass that on, since I used to take asprin before races and my Doctor freaked.

Nick is correct, Asprin and many many of those Health Drinks actually thin your blood. If you have a head injury or other injury, the potential for a bad result is substantially higher.

Stick to some cream for your arms.

 

I got arm pump one day when I first started riding again. I rubbed some"Ben-Gay" on it and that helped alot, and now that I ride all the time it doesn't come back very often.
