Classes for quad drag races?
#2
Usually atv drag racing is braket racing which is based on you dial in time. But there is some tracks with a heads up race which means the fastest is the winner. But for most bracket racing is better because it lets the low budget guy compete and is based on your consistancy. If you need any other info emial me. I would like to get to that race and next year we are planning a trip to the Smoky Mts agian so thart would be a perfect vactaion. One thing I recomend is promote the atv drags buy putting them on this forum and in the sceduels for atv magazines. My local dragway, Milan Dragway might not offer sand drags next year and the closest othe one is 1.5 hours so I might not make every one of those and a vacation would hewlp out.

At our local drag races they have it broken down into different classes. They are Warrior Class (250x, 300ex, Warriors), 400EX Class (400EX, Cannondale), 250R (If there are enough, otherwise they run with Banshees), Raptor Class (Raptors and DS650's), Banshee (up to 400cc, no alcohol, no nos or turbos), Outlaw Class (RUN WHAT YA BRUNG!!!!!!!)
Each round is a best 2 out of 3 with the drivers switching lanes between runs. It really works great and gives the spectators good racing to watch.

Thanks for the input. Here are some specific questions.
Are partcipants charged entry fees? (If so, how much)
What is the payout money in each class and how many places are paid?
Would you have a seperate class for equal cc 2wd & 4wd?
Are most head to head races or against the clock?
Would you have seperate classes for stock and modified machines?
How do you know if a machine has been modified?
