the YZF426? or CRF 450?

 

The YZ426F and CRF450 are very similar with the Honda having a reputation for a smoother feel and the Yamaha having more of a mid-range hit. In the latest Motocross Action, they tested the '03 CRF450 vs. the YZ450F and the conclusion is that the new YZ450F does have slightly more top end and over-rev. They dynoed both bikes and the HP and torque curves were almost identical until about 8500RPM where the YZF edged ahead by about 1-2 HP. They felt that the Honda was better for the beginner and intermediate rider, while the YZF would be the bike of choice for the expert or pro rider.

now that they have a good motor, they need to build a good four wheeler frame to put them in!!

 

i have heard rumors of yamaha coming out this spring with a new 400cc pure race quad. maybe the yzf450 will find a home there.
