Default ESR RACING ENGINES

Anybody have a esr 350 powervalve, I just got mine about 2weeks ago, and it is awsome........ it's like four stroke power, I ride mx, and now I can ease up to a jump, and power over it, when I used to have to carry alot of speed to the jumps. I also got the new esr kick starter which broke after about 10 or 12 starts, but Jay at esr is replacing it for me. When the kick starter broke, it bent the s**t out of my curtis sparks 330 pipe, and now I am in the market for a new pipe. I had planned to buy an esr pipe, but wanted to post and ask if anyone has a 350 powervalve. The reason for this: After breaking- in the new (esr)engine, the bottem end was unreal, but I had almost no top end as compaired to my curtis sparks 350 (non powervlave) which was ported and set up for mx racing. This caused me to change my 250r gearing from a 14/38 to a 14/36, which made it almost perfect on the mx track and sx track. I am pretty sure this loss of bottem end(on the sparks 350 engine) was mostly from the pipe since my friend has the same curtis sparks pipe but on 310 kit, and has the same complaint I did...(very little bottem end). so what I am afriad of is that the esr pipe which is aclaimed to have awsome bottem end will be too much bottem end if there is such a thing (lol) Any comments/experiences will be helpful, so that I can decide if I should go back with the sparks pipe or the esr.

I have two friends that TT race with ESR pipes and love them. They are just running 250cc based engines though. One 250r and one KX250 in an R style chassis.

I would stick with the esr pipes. They run really well. We run them on all of our motors except our drag bikes (we run custom CPI's on those) but i would stick with the ESR pipes.

Eddie Sanders pretty much are just Honda guys.Probably good to stick with one brand and be real good with it. My next door neighbor has a 302cc 250R. As a matter of fact he took first place in the under 370cc stock swingarm class at Little Sahara Sandfest last year. He runs the ESR TRX11 in frame drag pipe. It still has good bottom end with a nice hard hit on the top. Bubba

Eddie only does honda motors. His family owns a honda shop so that also makes sense. Eddie got into the business doing micro midget motors and was putting his 250r motors in those. That is how he got his big name. eddie is strictly 250r motors, and even at that he only does Pro-x motors and the PV CR motors, but im not so sure he is even pushing those anymore. He wont touch other cylinders like the PSI

Poolguy, did you ever buy that pipe (esr trx5) I have a similar motor to yours Macdizzy extreme mx port on a 350 PV. I love the power, but i need a new pipe. I was considering the Curtis Sparks 330/350 mx or high rev pipe. or the trx 5 pipe. I have currently a trx11 pipe and silencer...and the fit and finish are perfect, no leaks...i love it, but it is not the right pipe for me. I have tons of bottom end and midrange (even with the trx11 pipe) but I don't want to lose top end either. any how let me know how u like the esr pipe over the Curtis sparks pipe
thanks,
Joe
