I am shopping and have no idea what to buy. They all seem the same. What size fits me the best? ( 6' 200lbs ) I will be using it for work around the house, hunting, plowing, getting fire wood, and some trail riding. Probably will be doing some 2up riding, but not a lot. Yea, it would be cool to outrun my buddy, but not needed. (Actually anything I buy will outrun him!) This is a first time buy, so I want to do it right!

So far, looking at Grizzly 660, Cat 660, Cat TRV, and Polaris 700.
Should I be looking at 500 class or go for the big boys?
The bigger mods seem more comfortable to be on, but is it a waste?
Will the TRV slow me down or keep me from "manhandling" it (haha) a little when by myself?

Thanks for the input!

I may get flamed for saying this, but- The most reliable, bullet proof atv on the planet is the Honda 450, either ES or the S model. All the makers make good atv's. And it is a personal choice. But, from what you've described the Honda 450 is the ticket. It is the most trouble free atv and capable atv I know of. Of course, guy's that ride other brands will tell you the same about theirs.

Just do one thing. Check in on the other forums and see which brands and models are having the most problems. You will soon see what I mean.

Good luck on your purchase.

If it's for work, definitely the Honda Foreman. They are, like you said, the most bulletproof quad ever built. They are great workhorses and good on the trail too. The ride comfortable for the most part, and you can carry at least 6 people on it without slowing it down. Foreman all the way, it will come close to outpulling all of those auto-tranny quads.

Bushmaster,

Make that 3 for the Honda 450 even though its a smaller displacement machine. I would prefer the 450S model over the ES simply because its even more than bulletproof because it doesn't have the electrics to worry about.

I havent heard about the ol foremans lately, but there ok. Maintenence is kept to a minimum.

By the sounds of your needs, go with the cadilac, i mean, grizzly. I say cadilac, because what ever your doing, your always comfortable!!! Work, play, or 2 up riding. And there are plenty of mods that you can buy to keep up with your buddies!! good luck

Polairs should be releasing the SP700 EFI soon. Nothing is more comfortable than a Polaris. They invented the IRS utility quad and they have it down to a science. With the new EFI this thing will be a monster!
