I am 15 going on 16, 155 lbs. and i will be riding trails, pits, and some 66 acre open land, and i was wondering which atv would be good for me. I sortof want a 4-stroke since all things will have to be 4-stroke in 2007, and i was looking at a mojave, 400ex, scrambler/sport 400, or something else. im on a tight budget maybe 3000 at most.

well IMO the 400ex would be a great quad but u should also consider the Z400 it is comperale to the 400ex but it has a reverse which is good for trail riding and it is liquid cooled. I am asuming you are going to get it used cinsidering none of those quads you listed could be boguht new for $3000 well i would suggest checking Ebay thats where i bought my 300ex from and just the other day i saw a brand new Z400 for $3050 (not bad consider u would be paying 5-6 thousand new). so anyway i hope this helps u some.

If the price sounds to good to be true look out for a scam.

 

look for a 2002 or newer Honda 400ex for under $3000,,,,,you will eventually find one

what about the lt250r, how does it compare to a 400ex?

 

Alot of the auctions on ebay are scams. A couple of days ago i saw a 2004 brand new yfz450 for $2999 buy it now. So if you buy off of ebay be careful.

 

i dont think i would buy anything like an atv or somthin off ebay, all i need its something to play on, like lt230s, or mojave, something thats not too heavy, so i can throw it around, i like the feeling of complete control. But im still debating with the 400ex, i looked, and i dont want a two stroke. I was in the suzuki forum and they said the the lt230s whas a good quad and would climb just about anthing, i will be playing on the trails, not really speeding around, but in the pits, all i want is fun, everybody is always like, get the biggest, fastest, most powerfull quad out there, but all i need is somehting to have fun on from now untill out of college, once im out of college, i will get a bigger faster more pwoerfull one. also, what do u think of the new lt-z250, thats in my train of thought aswell. So give me the best one of these quads that is well suited for my intentions. maybe even the 250x. <u>not 250ex, 250X</u>

 

I would go with the 400EX because your gonna eventually want more power on any thing else.

 

ya it looks like a 400ex would be a good choice, the more i think about it, the more i like it.

 

what about the warrior, i like the reverse and will probably need it. I have alot of tight trails, and i like to explore, or make new trails.
