Wanting to trade my Prairie 650 for ????????
Hello
I have had a lot of various ATV's over the years and looking to trade again
as mine is three years old now.
I have a Prairie 650 that I really like. I really love the V-twin for hunting
in Canada in November. I can "creep along" with little throttle making little
noise which I really like in the forest. I also do not bear hunt in the Spring
anymore so the lesser clearance is not a problem at all. I must say my old
650 Grizzly with a lift kit and Super Swamper Vampires was hard to beat in
the deep mudholes and swamps of Saskatchewan.
I was wondering what your thoughts were on the Suzukis? I use to have a small
300 King Quad many, many years ago. It might have been a 350. Can't remember.
It was my first ATV and I bought it in 1993 or 1994. Nice machine.
Anyway I have the "itch" to trade and am looking at the new Brute Force 650,
the Prairie 700 OR the Suzuki Twin Peaks. I really would like to seriously
look at the King Quad but it does not have the V-twin and it is a independent
rear suspension machine. I always have a 25 gallon sprayer mounted to my ATV's
during the Spring and Summer months that will sit partially full and I have
been told by a few people that this is not good for the independent machines
so I am shying away from this machine. I think I would still be very, very
interested in getting one though if it was in fact a V-twin.
Maybe there are some new models or changes coming about this year or next
that I should wait and check on..........???????? I have no idea but if any
of you do, please let me know if you would.
If you guys have any recommendations I would appreciate it. I am ready to
trade but not quite sure which way to go now.
Thanks!

Wanting to trade my Prairie 650 for ????????
Pro Rider,
Thanks a lot for your input. I really appreciate it. I wondered if the B.F. 650 is only a Prairie
with nicer looking plastic.................I might as well trade up for a bit more power as long
as I am only trading for a newer machine.
I was wondering if one should wait and see if something "spectacular" is suppose to be
coming out next year. I have not heard so I think I will seriously look at the P. 700.
I have heard a lot of people complain about the B.F. 750's I.R.S. Sounds like it is not nearly
as good as other manufacturer's I.R.S. as far as a smooth ride goes. I have heard this from
a number of people.
I will stick with the rear axle. Works for what I am doing these days.
Thanks again Pro Rider.

Everyone in the Magazines say the BF is a power MONSTER but the suspension just is not up to the horse power. That is a plus on the Prairie, it is well balanced. As for next year, that maybe worth the wait. there seems to be a power wawr going on and everyone is out to be number one. Maybe interesting to see if Honda does anything. the new Foreman is nice, more power, better handling. Now lets see if the same happen to the Rincon. If you are going to even think of a IRS machine and want to haul a sprayer I would look hard for Adj. shocks or even a lock out for the rear end. That much weigh would be tough it. One thing for sure, the soild rear is a SOLID preformer for any work task!!
Good luck

For whatever quad you decide on you should check out one of those add on silent exhaust kits since you do some hunting. I think there is a couple different ones, the Benz Silentrider and ATV stealth exhaust http://www.atvstealthexhaut.com/ site was down last time i checked

Thanks Code 54 and brnunn! I sure appreciate your help. Now I am thinking I should trade
up for the P. 700 OR the B.F. 650. Not sure which. My P. 650 is a 2002 model. I suppose I
should trade up for a bit more power as long as I am trading.........................
If I knew for sure something was coming out that had features that I really wanted then
I might wait. I thought the Rincon would be a good machine for me but I was really
dissapointed when I rode the Rincon.
I also did not know of these exhaust kits. They will come in real handy.
Thanks a lot you guys and I hope you have a nice weekend.

brnunn,
Thanks a lot. I will check them out. Never heard of that model. Will take a look before. I sure loved the ride of the
Sportsman 500 I had years ago. It just was not worth a darn in the water/swamps of Canada but other than that it was a good machine and now the bearings are sealed in the back which is great as well. I can not figure
out why they did not have sealed bearings all those years................
