Im 16 6' 170lbs
The new raptor 700R looks perfect fo me but is way out of my price range. so i want to get a cheap modified sport atv.
I want the quad for fields, wide open trails, vacant roads, drag racing(not pure drag quads just friends n people i run into)
i want a quad for around $2500-3500
most of my riding will be 1/2 throttle an since fields are wide open and the trails ill be riding will be close
i was lookin at mildly modded banshee's and 400ex's cuz they seem to be sold 4 cheap used.

If all you are going to be doing is recreational riding, then I wouldn't waste my time with a banshee if I were you. Too much work for what you want to do. In that price range you listed you could get a 400ex, raptor 660, which might be the earlier models with tranny problems, or my choice the z400. Its a great all around bike and does well in trails. But if you ever wanted to race you could use that bike too, because its a great bike on the track. Usually you can find the z's in that price range with a few mods on them too.

i recreational ride my banshee all the time, and if your looking to compete with freinds, its the way to go, because you can allways go faster, and if you notice, all the people that talk bad about them on the trails, are the ones who do not have them, or can't ride them. mine is fine on the trails. You do have to make sure things are tight on it first before you ride, but its simple things, so don't be timid. 400ex's are good bikes also, tons of mods, not hard to get power out of, but i think you'd like a banshee a bit more, but then again, that depends on who does your work...you...or someone you pay. I do all my own work, build all my fourwheelers, save a huge chunk of change, look back and say, yeah, i made that, and its solid. Are you mechanically tallented? then a banshee is for you.
p.s. any rich kid can have a bike built, but do they truely know its capabilities or deserve the respect that the people who build them do? who knows?
