Well, I guess we all agree that the tires are not so great, but I am not sure if I want to change them. I mean, right now they do the job fine. It's just that I notice a loss of traction when doing the hard stuff but overall I am satisfied. I guess that if the tires every become more of a problem than a small annoyance, I will look into getting better tires. It just bothers me that this is such a nice, well-rounded quad and the only flaw is the stupid tires.

Tire is what this sport is about. A 4wd with crap tires will be the same as a 2wd with a set of vapires or outlaws.

It is probably true about the same inch tires on the front and rear, if not, your asking for repair bills. I had the same width (25-10-12) on the front as on the back, basically the same tires. They looked good and mudded well but I lossed speed and hard to steer. I let this place talk me into it against my better judgement. I switched back to 25-8-12's on the front and will stick with original size from now on. The Dunlops, as I mentioned are pretty durable. But they did almost get me in trouble on a few steep hills. I've also gotten through holes with the Escavators that I couldn't with the Dunlops.

I have another question that I have been thinking about. The Ultramatic transmission on the quad is based on a belt that slides up and down. So, I asked the salesman if the belt will slip and not get traction if I am in deep water (assuming the belt and transmission get wet with the rest of the quada). He said that it wouldn't; he was a really nice guy and he made purchasing the quad really easy and everything, so I have nothing against him, but on that response, I think he was just being a salesman. Anybody have any experience on how the transmission holds up in deep water conditions?

The belt housing is water proof so it hard to get wet.I can let the water come up to the bottom of the gas tank and have no troubles as long as I ride slow any deeper I go get my canoe.I know the newer belt drive bikes are even more water proof now with a higher air intake vent position.

Yeah, the salesman said not to go in water above the tires. Also, about the air intake; isn't the ATV water-cooled???

The air in take is for the tub that cools or lets out the heat build up in the clutch housing.

"It comfortably seats two people and it is a blast to drive in 2WD mode."

I thought for sure someone would jump all over MrElussive for this

I'm guilty of doing it myself once in awhile though

Kirk1,

Taking a girl on my ATV is the quickest and easiest way to impress, entertain, and p1mp it to her simultaneously. In other words, one drive on my ATV, and the girl loves me. =P
